I'm doing something different today. A new series. It's inspired by Rochelle Wiseoff-Fields Addicted to Purple.
Every week she posts a prompt and the challenge is to write a fiction piece that's not more than one hundred words.
So here's this week's prompt and my story.
I said goodbye to him here.
And I waited for him to come home.
That was over sixty years ago. I know he’s not coming back. I know he can’t come back. But I still come here, remembering that last kiss, that last smile, that last touch of our fingertips.
There was so much we had planned, so much life that wasn’t met. Ruined because of a mad man.
I used to go for jogs along this sidewalk, now I shuffle with my walker.
And sometimes if I squint, I can see him.
